Visakhapatnam: Union Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Smriti Irani, was the chief guest at the BJP Sankh Naad social media volunteers meet here on Sunday.

BJP state president Daggubati Purandheswari, MP GVL Narasimha Rao, and Sankh Naad social media  state in-charge Daval Patel were present at the in-camera meeting. Smriti Irani gave guidance and direction to the volunteers but did not speak to the media.

State BJP president Purandeshwari told the media after the meeting, “We would explain to the people the financial and other support provided by the Modi government to the AP. The Polavaram, the special status and the steel plant issues are the main concerns of AP. It is very painful that the central government is being criticised for its denial of the special status to AP. “BJP’s policy is that the government should govern and not interfere with the business.”

She said, “There is anarchy in AP. Poor quality alcohol is sold here and this is taking the lives of the people. No investment is coming to AP. Rather, industries are moving away from here. We will be spreading all this information through Sankh Naad's social media.”

Purandeswari stressed that the Modi-led government at the Centre was not corrupt. “PM Modi hasn’t been involved in a single scam. A corruption-free governance is possible only with the BJP. Very soon BJP will emerge as a formidable force in AP. By passing the 33 per cent women's reservation bill, PM Modi has created history."
