Kurnool: Y.S. Vimalamma, sister of former chief minister late Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Wednesday observed that the way investigation in Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case and subsequent arrests are unfolding, it appears as though they are a plot to tarnish the image of YS family.

Vimalamma maintained that perpetrators of Viveka’s murder are freely moving about, while innocents are facing difficulties.

She spoke to media after visiting Srilakshmi, mother of YSRC MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy, on Wednesday at a private hospital in the city, where Srilakshmi is undergoing treatment.

The sister of former CM Rajasekhara Reddy, interacting with the media, expressed her belief that individuals with sinister motives are responsible for the crisis that is unfolding within the YS family.

Vimalamma mentioned that she has known Avinash since his childhood. She said she had advised the MP to have faith in God for overcoming the developments. She maintained that Avinash's mother is currently in a better state of health, but is experiencing low blood pressure.

Vimalamma went on to allege that media has tarnished Viveka's name with their reports. She alleged that the same media is now unjustly targeting Avinash, describing him as the person responsible for Vivekananda's murder.

Reacting to charges of Sunita, daughter of murdered Vivekananda, Vimalamma said that she is unaware of the reasons. The late CM’s sister suspected that negative external forces are influencing Sunita's statements. She clarified that she has not had any conversation with Sunita recently.

On the day, leaders of YSRC staged a protest at the hospital, asking officials to reconsider their decision of arresting Avinash on humanitarian grounds. They say the MP’s mother is currently unwell and police need to be compassionate in the situation.
