Most officials retained posts after promotion

Most of the officers were retained in their respective posts which were redesignated to reflect their new rank.

Hyderabad: The state government on Tuesday gave promotions to 27 IAS and 23 IPS officers after obtaining the permission from the Election Commission of India as the model code of conduct is in force due to the elections.

Most of the officers were retained in their respective posts which were redesignated to reflect their new rank.

IAS

1988 batch: Adhar Sinha, principal secretary, political, GAD, and Shalini Mishra, principal secretary, (GPM&AR), GAD, promoted as special chief secretary and retained in their posts. Somesh Kumar, principal secretary, commercial taxes and excise, promoted and retained in the same post.
1987, 1988 batches: Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, Vasudha Mishra and I. Rani Kumudini, who were on Central deputation, promoted.
1994 batch: Sabyasachi Ghosh, promoted and posted as principal secretary, youth services.
2003 batch: Yogita Rana (public health and family welfare), Lokesh Kumar (Ranga Reddy district collectorate), T. Vijaya Kumar (school education) and P. Satyana-rayana Reddy (Pollution Control Board) promoted and retained in their posts.
2005, 2006 batches: Mahbubnagar incharge collector D. Ronald Rose promoted and retained in the same post. M. Champalal, B. Bharathi, B. Vijiendra, K.Y. Naik and K. Surendra Mohan given promotions.
2010 batch: D. Divya, Bharati Hollikeri, Hari Chandana Dasari and Preeti Mena promoted.
2015 batch: IAS officers Anurag Jayanti, Gowtham Potru, Pamela Satpathy and Rahul Raj promoted.
GHMC additional commissioner Amrapalli Kata, who has been promoted, has been retained in the same post and deputed to work as Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana.

IPS

1994 batch: K. Srinivas Reddy, B. Shivdhar Reddy, Soumya Mishra, Shikha Goel and Abhil-asha Bisht as Additional Director General of Poli-ce along with Vinayak Prabhakar Apte, who is on central deputation.
Mr Srinivas Reddy will hold full additional char-ge of IG (Greyhounds, Octopus), Mr Shivdhar Reddy as Additional Director-General of Police (Personnel) and Ms Soumya Mishra as Additional DGP (Welfare).
Ms Shikha Goel was posted as Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes and SIT) in the rank of Additional DGP.
2001: Akun Sabharwal, G. Sudheer Babu, T. Prabhakar Rao and P. Pramod Kumar promoted as Inspector General of Police.
Mr Sudheer Babu is posted as Additional Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, while Mr Prabhakar Rao is posted as IG, SIB, Intelligence and Mr Pramod Kumar as IG, Crime Investi-gation Department (CID). Mr Kumar will hold full additional charge of DIG, Karimnagar range.
2005: Avinash Mohanty, P. Viswa Prasad and M. Ramesh promoted as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG).
Mr Mohanty will hold full additional charge of DCP (Central Crimes Station) while Mr Prasad will hold full additional charge of DCP (Central) and Mr Ramesh will hold full additional charge of DCP (East).
2006 batch: Kartikeya, K. Ramesh Naidu, V. Satya-narayana, B. Sumathi, M. Srinivasulu and A. Venkateswara Rao promoted as DIGs
2004: V. Sivakumar, V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, S. Chandrasekhar Reddy and A.R. Srinivas promoted as DIGs.
Mr Sivakumar has been retained in the existing post in the Intelligence department while Kamalasan Reddy has been retained as Karimnagar police commissioner and Mr Chandrasekhar Reddy will hold full additional charge of Sangareddy superintendent of police. Mr A.R. Srinivas is posted as joint commissioner of police (Hyderabad) and will hold full additional charge of DCP (West).
