Kerala: 10 IUML, 7 CPM cadre arrested for election related violence

Kozhikode: As many as 10 members of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and seven CPM members have been arrested over the election related violence at Villiyapalli in Vadakara.

During the high voltage campaign in the last hours on April 21, both UDF and LDF workers came across each other which resulted in manhandling and beating. As many as 16 LDF cadres including the Villiyapalli gram panchayat president and three UDF workers were injured in the melee.

The arrested IUML workers are: Villiyapalli Ponmeri Parambil T.A. Navas (22), Kuningad, Karorath K. Mohammad Siyad (19), Villiyapalli Payyambally T.K Moham-med Ajfan (18), Kuningad Mullerithazhe Mohamm-ed Sibily (18), Perandac-hery Mohammed Mubas-heer (18), Cheripoyil Oth-ayoth Shajahan (35), Vil-liyapalli Kurudikunnath Abdul Muthalib (42), Villiyapalli Kuzhimbil Sahaluddin (22), Ponmeri Parambil V.M Ansif (22) and Nadapuram Echarath Aadil (18).

The arrested CPM workers are: Ponmeri Para-mbil T.K Rameshan (47), Kulathinu Meethal Arjun (18), Ponmeri Parambil K.K Manojan (42), Villi-yapalli P.P Rajeesh (34), Ponmeri Parambil P.K Abhin (19), Ponmeri Par-ambil M.K Pushpakaran (52) and Villiyapalli Che-mmandiyil P. Sukesh (32).
