Hyderabad:  While the traffic police is shifting out buses owned by private companies from Kacheguda, Lakdikapul and Afzalgunj to clear way for traffic, the RTC is coming up with a new plan to introduce district buses from the same locations.

Around 40 buses owned by private firms used to operate on the stretch from Kacheguda station road to Nimboliadda.

The RTC has purchased nearly 300 buses; 71 Vajra A/C buses among these will be allocated to city. Officials plan to operate them from Kacheguda, Barkatpura, Miyapur, Kukatpally, Dilsukhnagar and ECIL.

RTC executive director, GHMC zone, A. Purushotham Naik, said the zone would get 40 Vajra buses in the first phase. “We operate them on long distance routes. We will run them from various points in the city to Warangal and Nizamabad. We will also run buses from Kacheguda, Barkatpura to Rayalaseema,” he said.
