Visakhapatnam: N Chandrababu Naidu to inaugurate command control centre

Visakhapatnam: As a part of the Smart City project, the Command and Control Centre (CCC) will be inaugurated on Monday by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu who is visiting the city to participate in the third CII Partnership Summit from Saturday. The CCC has been set up with an investment of Rs 120 crore, said GVMC officials.

State HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao along with MP K. Hari Babu observed the CCC project works on Friday. They said that the project is a first of its kind in the country. It will give alerts for natural disasters and help the administration during emergencies. The L&T Smart World and Communication Division is executing the project which can integrate data from various devices such as surveillance cameras, pollution sensors, GPS systems among others and leverage it to help authorities take informed decisions.

The primary CCC facility will run from the GVMC office building while the secondary centre will be set up at the police commissionerate. A CCTV camera and one or two pan–tilt–zoom cameras (PTZ cameras), environmental sensors, WiFi hotspots, emergency call system, public announcement speakers will be mounted on each pole. The gadgets will alert citizens with a siren as and when an emergency is issued. Officials from GVMC, Pollution Control Board, revenue, tourism, police and APEPDCL will be a part of the project. A CCC team would coordinate with the agencies during emergencies.
