Govt dental college gets in-patient ward

The 30-bed inpatient ward was thrown open to the public, which is equipped with critical care equipment for pre and post surgery facilities

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Government Dental College and Hospital gets an in-patient ward, an operation theatre, hematology laboratories and new men’s hostel. Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar inaugurated the new facilities on Tuesday.

The 30-bed inpatient ward was thrown open to the public, which is equipped with critical care equipment for pre and post surgery facilities. Two automated blood test laboratories for clinical testing was also launched. A new operation theatre was also opened to facilitate dental care services for the patients.

“The new facilities of an inpatient ward at the dental college are first-of-its-kind in the country and would help in providing surgical care and clinical services within the hospital premises,” said Dr Saravanan Kumar, dean, Tamil Nadu Government Dental College and Hospital.
