Bengaluru: Taking a serious note of the Andhrahalli Government School of Bengaluru city wherein the school headmistress asking students to clean toilets, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday stated to have directed both Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Madhu Bangarappa and Minister for Social Welfare Dr H.C. Mahadevappa to keep an eye on hostels of schools and colleges.

While, condemning the toilet cleaning by students, Chief Minister asked officials concerned of department of Education to initiate strict action against the perpetrators if such incidents are happening in other schools and said that regarding Andhrahalli School incident, action has been initiated against the teachers responsible.

He asked the Minister for Primary and Secondary Education to have separate toilet facilities for both boys and girls and also appoint adequate cleaning staff.

Over the cleaning of toilets by students at Andhrahalli School, Janata Dal Secular State president and former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Saturday felt that it was not right to hold teachers responsible for the cleaning incident and the State Government has been evading responsibility.

Kumaraswamy said he was pained by students cleaning toilets at Andhrahalli School and also students entering a septic tank for cleaning at Malur Morarji Desai Residential School in Kolar district.
