VS Ugrappa gets threat calls, files complaint

He claimed that the Vedike members had abused him on social media for his statement on the seer.

Bengaluru: V. S. Ugrappa, Congress MLC and chairman of the Legislature Committee on crimes against women and children lodged a police complaint demanding action against members of Swacha Brahmana Vedike, for threatening him on social media.

Talking to reporters here on Thursday, he claimed that the Vedike members who were followers of the seer of Ramachandrapura Math, Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swami, had abused him on social media for his statement on the seer. He had questioned the police for not filing a chargesheet against the seer who was facing charges of sexual abuse by two women. Since then, members of various groups were attacking him on FB. “There are 98 messages in which members of the group have abused me in foul language and threatened me with dire consequences.”
