HYDERABAD: Employees of TSRTC are seeking payment of pending salary hikes, along with dearness allowances (DA) hikes, which have been pending since April 2017.

TSRTC members said that worker unions met ministers K.T. Rama Rao, Harish Rao and corporation chairman Baji Reddy Goverdhan on October 20, who assured to fulfil their demands. However, they are still waiting for the redressal.

M. Nageshwar Rao, a former board member of RTC, said, “The government had invited the unions at that point of as these employees should not create any kinds of protest over the issue in view of the Munugode election, which was scheduled two weeks from that point.”

He said that TSRTC employees are among the lowest-paid public sector employees in the entire country.

Maramreddy Thomas Reddy, general secretary of RTC Telangana Masdoor union, said, “The ministers and the chairman had promised that soon after the election, all our pending dues will be cleared, but still, the promises are not fulfilled. We hope that we will get some good news by the beginning of the coming month.”
