Finally, Etala Rajender faces the media
The minister said that the trauma centres on highways are being given a priority.
Hyderabad: In a long overdue media interaction in the city since the dengue epidemic broke out in the rainy season, state health minister, Etala Rajender, announced that nine new medical colleges, nine hospitals and 11 trauma centres have been planned in the state and Rs 241 crore have been allotted for it.
The minister said that the trauma centres on highways are being given a priority. There would be 11 trauma centres in existing government hospitals in the state.
The district government hospitals in Warangal and Adilabad are to be upgraded to super-speciality hospitals, he said.
The plan is to ensure that the district units are strengthened so that the poor could get maximum benefit. Rajender said, “The Aarogyasri scheme in Telangana is better than the Ayushman Bharat scheme. We are able to reach out to more people than the scheme which is implemented by the central government.”
Gandhi Hospital will have a mother and child centre as the present unit has a lot of women coming from nearby districts for deliveries.
