Hubballi blast: Security beefed up at rail stations

Bengaluru: Security has been beefed up at all railway stations across the state after an explosion at the Hubballi railway station on Monday.

A red alert has been issued to officers to take necessary action to prevent such incidents in Bengaluru and district headquarters in the state.

Railways SP Dr Boralingaiah issued the orders to ensure the safety of passengers at all railway stations.

The officer, who visited Hubballi immediately after the blast, has stationed himself in the north Karnataka town to oversee the investigation.

The police are keeping an eye on people moving in and around railway stations suspiciously and are also maintain a close watch on luggage being carried.

It is said that the explosive that went off on Monday is normally used to kill wild boars in jungles and rural areas. However, the note carried the name of a politician from Maharashtra.
