Visakhapatnam: India and West Indies cricket teams arrived in Vizag on Monday for the second ODI match to be played at the Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA cricket stadium on Wednesday.

The teams landed at Vizag Airport at around 11 am where the players were welcomed by cricket lovers and some of the officials.

Under a thick security cover, the teams were escorted to star hotels in the city. The Indian team is staying at the Novotel while the visitors are being accommodated at the Hotel Four Points by Sheraton.

Both the teams will practise at the stadium on Tuesday morning for around two hours. Although there is no definite threat perception, the city police made elaborate security arrangements by deploying quick action teams at several places, including at the stadium.

Sources said that the West Indies side will have net practise at the stadium at 9 am on Tuesday while Team India will practise after 1 pm.

The police said around 1,000 police personnel apart from the armed forces will be deployed at the venue and will use additional forces to make adequate arrangements for security and traffic management.
