Supreme Court nod to destroy 550 tonnes of Maggi sought

The Bench agreed to hear the application and sought the response of the central government and the FSSAI.

In June 2015, Nestle India withdrew Maggi noodles from the market.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday posted for hearing on September 30 an application filed by Nestle India seeking permission to destroy nearly 550 tonnes of Maggi noodles which had been recalled and lying at over 39 locations in the country.

The Bench agreed to hear the application and sought the response of the central government and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
