Watch: Modi bending down and picking up Indian tricolour at BRICS Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi exhibited his respect for the Indian tricolour at the BRICS Summit this morning.

Modi was attending the plenary session of the 15th BRICS Summit and was being led to his designated position by his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa. All the global leaders were supposed to gather on the stage.

On the dais, the positions in which the leaders should stand was denoted by flags of the respective leaders.

Right after stepping on to the stage, Modi found the Indian tricolour on the ground at the position he should stand but without stepping on it, Modi bent down, picked it up and put it in his jacket's pocket.

Ramaphosa, who had already occupied his position, obesrved Modi and picked up their country's flag off the floor and handed it over to an aide.
