Vijayawada: Finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said here on Monday that the Andhra Pradesh government would simultaneously introduce the State Budget as well as the Agriculture Budget in the Assembly on March 10.

Participating in the collectors’ conference here, Mr Ramakrishnudu said the Assembly Session would start on March 5.

He found fault with several departments, saying they have not spent even the approved budgetary allocations. Overall, however, the government had spent more than the Budget allocations, he said, and added that this helped the state. The agriculture and various other departments failed to be active partners in the state achieving a double-digit growth rate. Still, there was scope for AP to reach the targeted 15 per cent growth rate, thanks to the push from the tourism and IT sectors, he said.

The finance minister congratulated Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his efforts at making the state have a double digit growth in a short span. The government has improved the growth rate without imposing any new tax, he added. The industrial growth rate is satisfactory and other departments should submit their expenditure plan in ways as to reach the targets and maintain the double digit growth, he said.
