Bengaluru: The city has turned a little hot over the last two days, but it is not summer yet, weathermen said. The mercury that was low after the Sankranti festival has gone up and weathermen have predicted that the hot weather will last for another two days, till Friday, and summer will commence only in February.

Weathermen at the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre attributed the slight increase in temperature to cloudy weather. “The rise in temperature is due to the cloud formation generating heat around the region.

Adding to this is the cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal,” said an official from KSNDMC.

On the beginning of summer, he said that there is still some time for the onset of summer. “Winter is officially not over yet. As per the current weather conditions, summer is expected to commence only in February. The slight rise in temperature of about 2 degrees Celisus will continue for another two to three days.”
