Thiruvananthapuram: School name boards to display QR code

Thiruvananthapuram: Little KITEs units set up in schools by Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITES) would make details of schools in the form of QR codes for the public.

The school boards put up near their main entrance would also display the QR code to access the database on www.sametham.kite.kerala.gov.in.

On scanning the QR codes, they can also access School Wiki (www.schoolwiki.in), the comprehensive portal fostering a culture of collaborative learning among students.

Little KITEs units would also provide Hi-Tech training for mothers to have them familiarised with the Hi-Tech facilities made available in schools as part of Public Education Rejuvenation Mission.

The unique training would focus on creating a favourable atmosphere at home to make use of Samagra resource portal and the QR codes in the textbooks.

One of the main focus areas is to empower fellow students, parents and public with technical competencies including necessary training.

"This initiative is on the backdrop of the increased usage of internet among parents,” said K. Anvar Sadath, who heads the KITE.

It ensures the maximum usage of smartphones at home for educational purposes. Necessary apps would be deployed for smartphones in advance. Parents have to bring them for training.

During the training programmes, mothers would be introduced to the resources in the revised textbooks for Standard 9 and 10 by scanning the QR codes, familiarisation with the new classroom learning process, usage of digital resources, an insight of educational programmes aired through VICTERS channel and cybersafety.
