Telangana bags 1st place in Solar Rooftop Project implementation

Mr Reddy said that SARAL Index evaluates Indian states based on their attractiveness for rooftop solar project development.

Hyderabad: Telangana state has bagged first place in consumer experience and overall second most conducive states for solar Rooftop Project (SRP) implementation.  

In a statement, Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company chairman and MD G. Raghuma Reddy on Wednesday said that Telangana has also secured highest score for consumer experience.

He said that the state Rooftop Solar attractiveness Index (SARAL) was launched on Wednesday at the review Planning and Monitoring (RPM) meeting in Delhi by Union minister of state for power R.K. Singh.

He said that SARAL Index evaluates Indian states based on their attractiveness for rooftop solar project development. Karnataka leads the Index with a score of 78.8 followed closely by Telangana at 72.2 and Gujarat at 67.9 respectively.  Mr Reddy said out of a Central government’s target of 100 GW for solar by March 2022, grid connected rooftop contributes 40 GW.
