Thiruvananthapuram: BJP State president P. S. Sreedharan Pillai has initiated legal proceedings against finance minister Thomas Isaac for ‘spreading false messages’ against him on social media.
Mr Pillai told reporters here on Tuesday that Mr Isaac had misled people against him on the land acquisition for NH 66 development.
He has demanded `10 crore as compensation for loss of reputation or withdraw the statement and apologise. His lawyer Joseph Thomas sent the legal notice.
In his Facebook post, Mr Isaac wanted Mr Pillai branded as a common foe of people and accused him of sabotaging the development of the state. He also made a boycott call against him.
“The compensation would be utilised for the victims of Sabarimala persecution. Eleven more defamation cases are on the way against people who resorted to defaming me on social media by coming up with false allegations”, he said.
