Bengaluru: The Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (KSR) Railway Station, despite being the busiest in the state, lacks basic amenities. The station, which sees around 2 lakh passengers every day, doesn't have an adequate number of escalators, especially for senior citizens and differently abled, foot over bridges (FOB) and platforms.

Mr Manjunath, a regular train user said, “At the City Central Railway Station, there are very few escalators at the foot over bridge that connects platforms 1 to 10. There is only one escalator for platforms 9-10, which does not work most of the time. There are no escalators for platforms 7-8. Senior citizens and differently abled find it difficult to climb the steps. Even at the Cantonment Railway Station, construction of the shelter at Platform 1A is not done.”

But a railway official told Deccan Chronicle, “There are seven electric buggies to facilitate the movement of passengers, especially the disabled, the ailing and the elderly. If passengers are facing issues they should raise complaints with us. It will be easy for us to take action.”
