Hyderabad: A huge cement structure called stamp holding of yellow steel has been created at the crossroads at Secunderabad clock tower near YMCA by the Metro rail authorities. This stamp holding is being done so that the viaduct works can be supported and can go over the flyover.
The yellow stamp holdings are huge yellow construction structures where the viaduct above the flyover will be laid. The works are similar to the ones at Panjagutta. A senior Hyderabad Metro Rail officer said, “These stamp holdings will support the workers to take the viaduct forward from YMCA towards Jubliee Bus Station.” The earlier plan was to have the viaduct go above the flyover and the Metro rail but there have been changes and now it will be connected to the station area near Parade Grounds.
The interchanging stations are Parade Ground and Jubliee Bus Stand station. Another senior officer said, “The train from Faluknuma to Jubliee Bus Stand will arrive at the station and the one from Hi-tech city to Begumpet will be at Parade Grounds. There will be one level of interchanging station which will be below wherein that area people can cross over. There is a slight deviation from the earlier plan as the engineering aspects have to be looked into.”
The Metro rail officials at the ground level state that traffic will have to be monitored during peak hours as the Secunderabad clock tower cross roads has many RTC buses which turn at this crossroad. During morning and evening peak hours there is already a complaint that there is heavy traffic jam.
