Vaidya Vidhana parishad chief must be doctor: Telangana High Court

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the state government to appoint a doctor, instead of an IAS  officer, as the commissioner of Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad within two weeks.

Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili issued this order while dealing a plea by Healthcare Reforms Doctors Association challenging the appointment of Mr K. Manik Raj, IAS as the commissioner of TVVP. The post dould he held by a doctor according to Section 3(3)(a) of the Vaidhya Vidhana Parishad Act, the judge said.
