BC student leaders protesting Amit Shah visit taken into custody

Rajahmundry: Three Town police took two AP BC Students' Union leaders including its head into preventive custody when they were raising slogans like 'Amit Shah go back' and 'We want special status' when top BJP leader Amit Shah was scheduled to visit Quarry Market Centre to inaugurate the party office on Thursday.

AP BC Students' Union head M. Durga Yadav and another leader T. Vijay Kumar, with support from Telugu Desam party, staged a stir for some time at the market centre before the arrival of the BJP leader. However, the police took the duo into preventive custody and shifted them to the three town police station.

After some time, Amit Shah arrived there and inaugurated the party office and proceeded to the open ground at Lala Cheruvu to address the party activists.

Police released the two leaders on submission of personal surety.
