HYDERABAD: As a part of citizen friendly policing, the Hyderabad police has taken up another initiative for public convenience. From now on, most of the communication will be sent through email and via SMS. If there any complaints that are unresolved, citizens can meet officials any time between 3 and 5 pm every day at the police commissionerate office.

The move is to ensure transparency, so that corruption is eliminated and people find it easy to get their grievances redressed.

The police in a release said the process of giving licences and permissions for hotels and establishments had been streamlined. Stakeholders were requested to update their cell number and email for prompt intimation in case they have any doubts or clarifications.

The Hyderabad police commissionerates also asked multiplexes and cinema theatres to update their cell number and email ID in the database so that relevant information is communicated to them online.

The advise was also addressed to those applying for permissions to use explosives for construction purposes. The overall objective is to bring about a citizen-friendly, hassle-free, corruption-free, responsive system, it said.

The office of every DCP and ACP in the city and police station will have the same seamless mechanism.

Hyderabad police commissioner’s office also put out a Whatsapp number for contact: 9490616880

Police commissioner, Anjani Kumar said, “Hyderabad city police is always at your service. Help us to improve our service mechanism to provide you better services. Give us your regular feedback. We always value your opinions and suggestions.”
