Kochi: Muhammed Nisham allowed to visit mother

A police team headed by a sub-inspector has been deployed for a close watch on him every time.

KOCHI: Beedi king Muhammed Nisham, sentenced to life imprisonment for killing a security guard in Thrissur four years back, on Monday got permission to visit his ailing mother in Kadavanthra here.

As per parole conditions, he can visit his mother at his flat in Kadavanthra from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. till Wednesday. Besides, he is not allowed to use mobile phones or interact with anyone during these days.

A police team headed by a sub-inspector has been deployed for a close watch on him every time.

It was on January 2015, Nisham, who was inebriated, crushed to death security guard Chandrabose of a residential complex in Thrissur with his Hummer over the delay in opening the gates. 

The guard succumbed to injuries on February 16.

Following the incident, the court, after finding him guilty, sent him to jail ordered to pay a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the victim's family.
