Kochi: 49-year-old man killed in accident

Kochi: A 49-year-old man was killed when the two-wheeler he was travelling on met with an accident at the Kundannur – Thevara bridge on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Shibu (49), son of Vasu of Kannarkkattu house in Nettoor. Shibu was a temporary staff at the Cochin Shipyard Limited. According to cops, the incident took place at around 7.30 am when Shibu lost control over the two-wheeler while overtaking a lorry. The vehicle skidded and Shibu fell on to the road in the imapact. The lorry which was travelling in the same direction run over him.  He succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, police said. Panangadu police, has registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC (causing death by negligence).

The body of the deceased was handed over to the kin after an autopsy.
