Kannur:The CPM will observe November 26 as 'Constitution Protection Day'. Announcing this here on Tuesday, CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan launched a frontal attack on the opposition UDF and the BJP alike.

He asked BJP chief P.S. Sreedharan Pillai to direct his workers to keep off Sannidhanam if they were not protesting the entry of women but the Communists.

"If the agitation is political, they can do it before the secretariat. They should spare Sabarimala from the bout of agitations pushing pilgrims into an ordeal," he said.

"Those who spread slanders that Communists are trying to destroy Sabarimala should also explain the same. Devaswam boards execute many significant projects when LDF is in power."

Calling the RSS as a terrorist outfit, he said the claim that they respect the traditions was just a gimmick. The present episode is an attempt to convert Sabarimala into a saffron den.

Describing RSS protestors whom the police arrested as criminals came to create law and order issues, he said the police had allowed BJP MPs, Union minister Alphonse Kannanthanam and UDF leaders as they were there not to create problems.

He attacked the UDF also saying, "It is high time they realised the facts and stop playing as BJP's B-team."
