Chennai: DMK President M K Stalin urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to personally intervene to solve the labour dispute in Swiggy, the food delivery company, whose employees have been on a strike protesting against the cut in salary and incentives by the company.

"The government should not neglect the strike by over 10,000 Swiggy employees, who deliver food at the doorsteps of customers, saving many of them from going hungry at these times of the pandemic and lockdown," Stalin said in a statement on Thursday.

"The government should invite the Swiggy management, which had cut salaries and incentives in the pretext of the pandemic, and the employees for talks and resolve the dispute amicably," said Stalin.
