Bengaluru: Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha leader, Vatal Nagaraj on Thursday cautioned that the  present Kannada flag in Turmeric and Vermillion colours, should not be changed and should be adopted as the state flag. He also demanded that  the government should go ahead with the move to adopt a state flag and on November 1(Rajyotsava Day), the government should formally hoist the flag. Talking to reporters here, he said Kannada organisations have organised a discussion on the flag controversy on July 29. "If need be, an agitation will be launched. We welcome the government move to have a state flag, it should not go back on its move," he said.

Mr Nagaraj also claimed he was involved in shaping the Kannada flag which is 50 years old now. "The BJP has no moral right to criticise the state government’s move," he said.
