Begumpet too has a land scam

Members of the society allege that they were not allotted prime plots in Bowenpally.

The complainant informed that in the recent SCB board meeting, the cantonment officials approved the building permission given to Mr. P. Sampath for plot number 15, Sy no 18,19,20 and 21 for ground plus 1st and 2nd floor, when the matter is under investigation.

Hyderabad: Another land scam unearthed. Margadarshini Co-operative Housing Society scam in Rasoolpura of Begumpet, in which the management sold plots illegally has been dug up for further investigation.  A fresh complaint has been filed in the Begumpet Police station and the court too has given the go-ahead to detailed investigation.

Members of the society allege that they were not allotted prime plots in Bowenpally and around 4.36 acres of land worth crores had been swindled. Earlier, the police had arrested the prime accused in the case and later released him on station bail.

In the complaint to the Begumpet police, Mr. G. Ravi Chandar Prakash who claimed to be one of the founder members of the society alleged, “The society had purchased land of 1 acre and 36 guntas with Sy no 18,19,20,21 and 4 guntas in survey no-2, in Rasoolpura. Four members including me submitted to the court that the society had made 48 plots as per the cantonment layout. Out of these 34 plots have buildings. Mr. Rajendra Kumar, the President of the society had sold the plots to the third party. The people residing in the said building are not the actual members of the society.”

He further added, “In 2008, plot number 15 was allocated to one Mr. P. Sampath, through a sale deed. Plots was allotted to Mr. Rajendra Kumar’s family members instead of allocating to the actual members.”

The complainant informed that in the recent  SCB board meeting, the cantonment officials approved the building permission given to Mr. P. Sampath for plot number 15, Sy no 18,19,20 and 21 for ground plus 1st and 2nd floor, when the matter is under investigation. The cantonment officials were unavailable for comment.

Meanwhile, Sub–Inspector Sainath Reddy of the Begumpet Police official said, “This is an old case; earlier the accused was arrested and later released on bail. A case under section 403/2016 sub section 406, 420 under the IPC had been booked. As per the court orders the police has to now further investigate. The police will not take any coercive step but only act in accordance with the law. We will be issuing a notice under section 41 (A) Cr. P. C.”
