Hyderabad: Still, no seating at Flag spot

Hyderabad: A green space is being readied at the spot where the country’s second tallest National Flag stands in Sanjeevaiah Park here. The flag turns one on June 2, it was unfurled last year to mark the State Formation Day.

The flag zone will have a granite cover and flower beds across 250 square metres, an official said.

The official confirmed that the spot still would not have basic amenities like seating and battery operated cars for visitors. No tenders have been called, an official said.

The Flag has been a hit with tourists.

Mr Raja Ram, officer on special duty, said, “On week days about 1,400 people visit the park. On weekends it crosses 2,000. The flag has certainly made a difference.”
