Nellore: Nellore City legislator Dr Anilkumar Yadav said he will be forced to stage a protest before Nellore Corporation if the authorities concerned fail to clear 3,900 pending applications for pensions in Nellore immediately. Speaking to reporters during a visit to the 13th Division in Nellore on Tuesday, he said that the officials have been told to sanction pensions before the end of February with a warning that the applicants will resort to a protest in March first week if they fail to honour the request.

Mr Yadav found fault with the officials for not giving any clarity over the pending pensions even after two months. He also slammed the TD government for ignoring the eligible applicants for pensions despite repeated appeals. He said he would stage a dharna before the civic body office along with those waiting for the sanction of the pensions on March 26. Nellore Deputy Mayor Mukkala Dwarakanath was also present with the legislator.
