Hyderabad police keep eye on Sattar Khan for faking papers

On Monday morning, he appealed to the district sub-collector, Chekuri Keerthi, to allow him to sell his organs to those who may need them.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police is continuing to keep a close eye on Sattar Khan, auto driver, who came into limelight after he received a notice from the authorities at the Hyderabad office of the Unique Identity Authority of India (UIDAI).

Sattar Khan, a resident of Talabkatta in the Old City, has received a notice from the UIDAI, Hyderabad regional office, for personal appearance before an inquiry officer as a complaint was received against him, alleging that he was not an Indian national and had obtained an Aadhaar number through false pretenses, by making false claims and submitting false documents.

The CCS registered a criminal case u/s 420, 465, 468, 471 of IPC and 12 (1) (B) of the I.P. Act against Sattar Khan for helping a Rohingya refugee couple in unlawfully obtaining a voter card and Aadhaar card.

Sattar claims he wasn’t at home
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Sattar Khan said that on Thursday a few cops had come to his house to ask about his whereabouts but he was not at home at the point of time. When his brother-in-law asked them to show their identity cards, they left.

Mr Khan denied rumours that he had been nabbed by the sleuths of the CCS.

“It is true that few cops came to my house when I was not at home, but they left,” he said.

Neighbours stated that uniformed cops as well as those in mufti were roaming around the locality since reports about him first appeared in the media.
