While the Metro initially gave away smart cards by merely collecting money, it is now interested in knowing details about these smart card users.

BENGALURU: The response to Metro reserving first two entry doors of the first coach for women commuters has been positive, according to BMRCL officials. On Monday, Managing Director Mahendra Jain visited MG Road Metro station to elicit feedback from women travelling in Namma Metro. Chief Public Relations officer Vasanth Rao said, "The first day response to this initiative was excellent.

Jain had spoken to women commuters and received positive feedback. He assured them that with the 6 coach formation, an entire coach will be reserved for women." "On Tuesday, Bengaluru Development Minister KJ George  travelled in the train and got a thumbs up for this initiative from the commuters. They also wanted him to expedite operation of the 3 additional BEML coaches,' Rao added.
