THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former state police chief T.P. Senkumar said that the Constitution should be amended so that the majority community enjoys the same rights minorities do.

Taking a jibe at minority rights, he said their population ‘declined from 9 per cent to 21 per cent’. He added that population of Hindus in Pakistan rose from 28 percent to 1 percent; in Bangladesh it became 4 percent from 33 percent.

Mr Senkumar, who is also the Sabarimala Karma Samithi's national chairman, was speaking at the Ayyappa devotees' meet at the Putharikandam grounds here on Sunday. Mr Senkumar alleged that crores were pumped into the "women wall," whereas during the Ayyappa devotees' meet, the 'sanatana dharma' will be protected.

He made a hard-hitting speech against the government saying certain IPS officers and government servants who had not given due consideration to the Supreme Court verdict on women entry in Sabarimala ensured to have a massive Hindu conclave happening at Putharikandam. He said it was not people from Kerala or those who know about Sabarimala who joined as parties in the Sabarimala case. He took a jibe against the recent controversy on the State Government providing a list of 51 women which has not been factually right.

In an indirect reference to the killing of RMP leader T.P. Chandrasekharan in 2012, he said the LDF government had a particular liking for the number.
He also said that Sabarimala is a religious place and not a tourist centre and maintained that it was non-Hindu women who entered Sabarimala with the help of the state.
