2,010 Agniveers Pass Out At INS Chilka; Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar Reviews Parade

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Navy’s premier basic training establishment, INS Chilka, in Odisha on Friday evening hosted the Passing Out Parade (POP) of the 6th batch of Agniveers, marking a proud milestone for the country’s maritime forces.
A total of 2,010 Agniveers, including 309 women Agniveers and 276 Navik (General Duty) recruits of the Indian Coast Guard, successfully completed their training and marched out in a ceremonial parade.
The parade was reviewed by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, who lauded the young men and women for their discipline, dedication, and commitment to serve the nation.
Commodore B. Deepak Aneel, Station Commander, INS Chilka, was the Conducting Officer for the event.
The grand occasion was attended by proud parents of the Agniveers, distinguished veterans, eminent sports personalities, and members of the station community, who cheered the recruits as they took their first step into active service.
The POP not only reflected the Indian Navy’s growing emphasis on gender inclusion but also highlighted the dedication of the new generation of sailors and Coast Guard personnel who will now join the frontline of maritime defence.
