Free saris from sept. 23, says KTR
He said that this year the state government has procured 1.02 crore saris at a cost of Rs 313 crore.

Hyderabad: IT and industries minister K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday announced that free distribution of Bathukamma Saris will commence from September 23 across the state.
He said that this year the state government has procured 1.02 crore saris at a cost of Rs 313 crore and orders have been given to handloom wavers of the state to make saris thereby giving employment to 16, 000 weaving families in the state. He said that they have identified that 1.02 crore women beneficiaries in the state and every woman who attained 18 years of age and had white ration card is eligible to receive the sari.
