Rs 189 crore collected from Kerala districts

A 30-member team from Bengal arrived here on Wednesday with relief material.

Thiruvananthapuram: The fund collection campaign carried out by elected representatives and employees in districts between September 10 and 15 has raised Rs 189.2 crore so far .

Kannur had recorded highest collection at Rs 30.87 crore.  Higher education institutions have contributed Rs 7.56 crore and the highest contribution came from Kerala University Rs 47.91 lakh. Collegiate education department  30.98 lakh, MG University 13.44 lakh, Kannur university 18.54 lakh, Calicut University 16.41 lakh.

District wise details of fund collection; Thiruvananthapuram Rs 15 crore, Kollam Rs 19.5 crore, Pathanamthitta Rs 4.41 crore, Alappuzha Rs 24 crore, Kottayam Rs 11.97 crore, Idukki Rs 3.55 crore. Ernakulam Rs 12.15 crore, Thrissur  Rs 14.22 crore, Palakkad Rs 16.20 crore, Malappuram Rs 11.24 crore, Kozhikode Rs 17.12 crore, Wayanad Rs 2.50 crore, Kannur Rs 30.87 crore and Kasargod Rs 6.89 crore.
