Bomb scare aboard Guwahati-bound Air India flight at Kolkata airport

Kolkata: The Netaji Subhas Chandra International Airport in Kolkata received a bomb threat on board Air India flight AI-729 on Tuesday morning.

According to a report in dna, the Kolkata-Guwahati flight was evacuated and a search operation was initiated by the CISF and airport authorities following the threat, which came in at 8 am.

"We have evacuated the aircraft and now it has been taken to the isolation bay, where search operation is being carried out. Till now, we have not been able to find anything on board the aircraft,” a senior official of the CISF, in charge of the airport security was quoted as saying.

The Bidhannagar City Police have traced the individual who had made the threat call to be a woman who identified herself as a resident of Rajarhat.
