3,000 railway stations now eqipped with public wifi

Around 1,000 stations have been enabled with Wi-Fi in just 15 days time.

Digital payment channels have seen massive uptake and rise in transactions after demonetisation was announced on 8 November.

New Delhi: Ellenabad Railway station in Bikaner Division of North Western Railways became the 3,000th station in the country to have public Wi-Fi.

The number of Wi-Fi equipped Railway stations in India reached 3010 on Sunday evening after 56 more stations were connected to the free internet services by Railways.

Around 1,000 stations  have been enabled with Wi-Fi in just 15 days time.
