KT Rama Rao to break tradition, start work on Amavasya

This is the first big fly-over project being taken up by the urban body in Telangana state after bifurcation.

Minister for NRI affairs K.T. Rama Rao sought such database in May this year to provide legal, financial and other needy assistance to people from the state working in the Gulf countries in case of them getting stranded due to various reasons.

Hyderabad: Minister K.T. Rama Rao is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the Balanagar crossroad- Narsapur crossroad flyover at 3 pm on August 21.

The day happens to be Amavasya, when Telugus generally avoid starting projects. The day will also see a solar eclipse in the US.

When it is completed, the flyover is expected to benefit lakhs of commuters travelling from Secunderabad, Bowen-pally, Balanagar, Sana-thnagar, Kukatpally, Chintal and Jeedimetla.

According to Mr Dronamraju Ravi Kumar, president of the All India Brahmins Federation youth wing, the flyover will benefit lakhs of people and government needs to chose an auspicious muhurat to start the work.

Mr Vemuri Suryana-rayana Sharma, former lecturer in astrology, Telugu University, said the project would be besieged with problems if the foundation stone was laid at an inauspicious time.

It is known that Mr Rama Rao does not involve himself too deeply in religious beliefs and activities.
