Hyderabad: Hyderabad Central Crime Station(CCS) issued notices to around 40 inspectors who worked as investigating officers in various cases. Officials said cases were pending since 2004. Many investigating officers have not even maintained their case diary. The notices were served in August beginning. CCS is one of the most important wings of the city police  covering cybercrime, woman police station and special investigation team. It deals with economic offences involving over Rs 30 lakh and major offences like cheating, robbery, dacoity and passport frauds.

Around 2,100 cases are pending with CCS at various stages. Most of the officers are aware of them. They were left pending due to the negligence of the previous officers, who worked at CCS. The case diary of so many cases has not been maintained. One cheating case involving fraud by an educational consultancy registered in 2004 was pending till August 2016. Three of the accused were in Hyderabad and were arrested while three US-based accused could not be nabbed. Replies to the notices served were submitted. Some said that they were on bandobust duty and could not maintain the case diary while others said that they forgot to add the case diary in the file.
