Hanish to head Kochi Smart City; Assembly from August 7

Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet on Wednesday decided to hold the seventh session of the Assembly from Aug 7.  It appointed G Rajendran as a PSC member and Sharmila Mary Joseph IAS who has returned after Central deputation as Planning Board member secretary and planning and finance secretary.  A. P. M. Mohammed Hanish, Supplyco CMD, has been given additional charge of the executive officer of Kochi Smart City.

Survey and Land Records director Gopalakrishnan has been given additional charge of Thiruvananth-apuram Smart City chief executive officer.

Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan director R. Rahul has been given additional charge of KTDFC managing director.

Retired additional chief secretary M. Marapandian has been appointed as a special officer to procure kernel from countries which cultivate it.

It also decided to grant the 10th pay revision benefits to Kerala Dental Council staff and approved the creation of 460 jobs in lower courts and sub-courts under subordinate judiciary, as directed by the Kerala High Court.

Ten additional posts have been created for three years on a contract basis for the Vizhinjam rehabilitation scheme. Four additional positions have been set up in the State Forward Caste Welfare Corporation chairman's office.

In Thrissur district, Viyyur Fire and Rescue Academy has got 22 more posts while 37 posts have been created in the Thiruvananthapuram bench of Kerala Administrative Tribunal.

It increased the pensions of PSC chairman and members for annual services to 7.5 percent of the basic pay from five percent. 

The maximum pension was raised to 50 percent of the basic pay from the earlier 30 percent. PSC chairmen and members should have served a minimum of two years to avail pension. 

A new bridge costing Rs 13 crore has been sanctioned across Tirur river in Thanur Assembly constituency. Ten acres of land from the 30 acres of SIDCO in Menamkulam village will be allotted to Women's Police Battalion to have their headquarters.

The cabinet also sanctioned Rs 5 lakh to Malappuram native Fathima Hannah, 11, Thrissur natives Lakshmi, 14, Nisala Farheen, 3,  Palakkad native Anselin, 8, and to the children of Alappuzha native  Sreekumar and Sujitha Kumari who had died in an accident.
