Bidar: While the headmistress of Shaheen Urdu Primary School in Bidar and the woman of a pupil who staged a play critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are out on bail, the president of the school, Abdul Qadeer, and four other members of the management are still on the run.

Police have slapped sedition charges against them and their bail petition has been posted to February 25. They have formed two teams to nab them.

Nileesh Jadhav, the man who complained about the play after seeing a video of it on social media on January 21, told Deccan Chronicle that it was not only critical of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) but also derogatory towards Modi.

“I did not name any children in my complaint but only the school management,” he clarified and added that “the school management had misled children. What was school management trying to impart to the children?”

Meanwhile, in a press release, the Shaheen Primary and Hugh School said it regrets staging the play and asserted that it holds Modi in high esteem.

The school said, “It is a pure accident that such a blunder has happened.”
