Lighting to rock ORR stretch

A senior HMDA official said that the work would cost about Rs 2.5 crore and estimates would be submitted to the government on Monday.

Hyderabad: In order to enhance the driving experience, HMDA will illuminate rock formations along the 158-km Outer Ring Road as part of the beautification programme, specifically on the Gachibowli-Shamshabad, Kothwalguda and Rajendranagar stretches. 

MAUD principal secretary Arvind Kumar had asked the HMDA to light up the rock formations at the earliest. A senior HMDA official said that the work would cost about Rs 2.5 crore and estimates would be submitted to the government on Monday. The work would take three months.

He said emphasis would be on illuminating minor and major formations on the Gachibowli-Shamshabad, Kothwalguda and Rajendernagar stretches and at the rest of the places lights would be adjusted on the rocks on both sides.
