Hyderabad: Students of Nizamia Tibbi (Unani) College, Hyderabad, on Wednesday, demonstrated against putting into effect the controversial amendments in the Citizenship Act. Students boycotted the classes at noon and held a march in the college premises, raising slogans against the Modi government and Delhi and UP Police. Unani Medicine students expressed their anguish over the assault on the agitating students of Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University. They demanded a high level inquiry into the incidents of high-handedness by Police in the above said universities.

Zubair Alam, an UG student, said "The Modi government wants to divert the nation's attention from the core issues confronting citizens to non-issues. The amendments carried in the Citizens Act are inhuman, irrational and unconstitutional." He argued that envisaging infiltrators of particular communities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan is nothing but admitting that our security personnel who are guarding our borders failed to check intrusion.

These amendments are unconstitutional because they violate Articles 5, 10 and 14. The CAA is not only against Muslims but also against the Dalits and adivasis as well, including Hindus.

He said "Modi and Amit Shah want to destroy the India. They are implementing the Hindutva agenda. This will hamper the social fabric of India. We will not ready to queue for submission of documents to prove our nationality. We are doctors and we do not just treat physical diseases but also know how to treat mental ailments. Both leaders are suffering from mental problems. They want to divide the people of the country."
