Hyderabad: Illegal encroachments removed at Gachibowli by cops

Hyderabad: Encroachment removal drive was conducted in the Gachibowli to IIIT stretch where many commercial building owners in Indiranagar have illegally rented out open spaces in front of their buildings to street vendors. The vendors have in turn illegally constructed structures on the footpath. The illegal structures was removed by the traffic police and GHMC official  under Gachibowli police station limits. According to the cops complaints forced them to take action.

Ramulu, Inspector of police, Gachibowli  traffic police station said, “To ease traffic situation and in view of safety of pedestrians, we have conducted  encroachment removal drive on Saturday and all illegal structures have been removed. Regular inspections will be done to maintain the area free from any illegal occupations”. 

Criminal cases will be booked against the commercial building owners from now on if they try to illegally rent out government space meant for footpath or road widening. Street vendors are advised to not to conduct their business on roads and footpaths obstructing traffic or pedestrians added the traffic cop.
