Mangaluru: Mangaluru City South MLA Vedavyas Kamath today met Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Home Minister Araga Jnanendra at Bengaluru, requesting them to set up the office of National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Mangaluru.

Kamath stressed NIA's presence in Coastal City as the terror activities were increasing in the region and for special attention on security in the region.

He said that terror elements are trying to set their roots in Coastal districts. The recent arrest in the region by the NIA is proof for this. NIA office is needed in Mangaluru to check terror elements spreading their wings, he requested.

Vedavyas Kamath said that during the interaction Chief Minister had responded positively and assured to look into the matter. He added that the Home Minister will shortly visit Mangaluru and a decision will be taken at an appropriate time.
