Bengaluru: More trouble is brewing for the National Public School (NPS) management which runs several schools in the city. According to sources, the state government and the CBI are seriously pursuing the forgery complaint made against the school.

The major allegation against NPS is that it used forged signatures  of officials of National Commission for Minority Education Institutions (NCMEI) and Directorate of Urdu and Other Minority Language Institutions to show that the school had been granted minority status.

According to sources, the CBI which received a complaint from Janaadhikaara Sangharsha Parishath (JSP), has sought the details from  Department of Public Instruction (DPI). "As the Central government too is involved, CBI is seriously pursuing the case. The central agency has already sought relevant information," said an officer.

"Following this incident, DPI is flooded with complaints against several schools which have furnished wrong information to secure minority status," the officer added.

Adding to the woes of NPS, the state government has decided to act against the school for allegedly furnishing forged documents to avoid providing 25% quota seats under RTE. NPS operates six schools in the city and one in Mysuru.
